I said it in the past about Aires split EP with Liminal for Genot Centre and again the unique and contrasting fauna and flora in a volcanic bed of Madeira Island is house for more intense soundscapes coming from Ulnar, the new project of Rui P. Andrade and Vitor Bruno Pereira (Aires, Verãopop, Shikabala), both members of the Casa Amarela arts collective. Orbiting around drone, noise, ambient sonic pallettes combined and contrasting with juxtaposed field recordings of nature or more mechanical textures, “Dreaming of Sailing Further West” is an intense dive into the band’s hometown Funchal. Released through ZigurArtists, get it on Bandcamp here.
