One of my favorite producers (and illustrator), Argentinian prolific producer Longchamps self released last month a double album titled “The City” and “The City Vol.2″ where he explores sound structures driven by Asian culture specially City Pop. It is clear the influence from retro-futuristic artists like Yellow Magic Orchestra or Haruomi Hosono that brought some of the most fresh Synth Funk but you can also find Ambient influences from the chilled side of The Orb or 808 State, acid/rave elements closer to the LFO sound and a myriad of other elements that he skilfully blends such Breakbeat/core, Jazz, Progressive Rock, Jungle, House, Footwork, Electro and many more. If you wonder why this Buenos Aires producer is so special for modern electronic music, take a listen of the double album and grab it for free on Bandcamp here.
