DIY lo-fi disco-pop Superstar & Star team up with Tapes for new single via Porridge Bullet :.

Neville Lawrence (“Star”), one of the names behind mysterious career of “Superstar & Star” alias is as surprising as their music and their past. Neville migrated from Trinidad in the early 80’s to New York, performed in places like The Arc and the Samy Hotel (where he shared a stage with Snoop Dogg in 1988) when he then found his lover due to a subway spontaneous connection with a tourist to end in Omaha, Nebraska where he lives till now with his family, forming the “Superstar & Star”, singer and song writer. Called the undisputed king of home-disco or as WFMU radio´s blog put it, Nebraska-area late night television commercial hawking Superstar’s CDs describes the music as “a blend of pop and soul with Caribbean flavor and a message: Life is Worth Living”.

Back with his unique DIY lo-fi funky-disco-pop to Porridge Bullet with a collab project with Tapes (Jahtari, EM, Sextags, Meeuw Muzak through Estonian record label based in Tallinn, they bring an melancholic/hypnotic ballad backed by cosmic vintage drum machines and misaligned from the heart peculiar vocals. The single comes with a riddim version, get it on Porridge Bullet site here.
