Recent suggestion from The Trilogy Tapes relies on DEEK recordings head label, London based prolific producer Bullion. With releases on Young Turks, R&S, Greco-Roman, Honest Jon’s, the new bet is a delicious 3 track vinyl 12″ EP named “Blue Pedro” and probably the origin of the term “nautical pop” (yes I said that). The coherent way how he blends different genres is not new, in fact he is well known for messing with our brain by pushing the limits of possibilities so it´s no surprise to find electropop blended with what sounds like a Congolese Soukous lead guitar on “Blue Pedro” or Disco-inflected prog rock riffs on “Spin2Glor” added to wonky electronica, traditional mystic chants and exquisite vocal sampling. You have here probably the best release of this Summer and the next Summers to come.
